If you want your weight loss to continue, you need to carefully monitor portion sizes. Eat a small portion of meat, approximately the size of your palm. Studies have demonstrated that those who pay close attention to their portions tend to shed the most pounds overall.
One way to intake less cholesterol and saturated fat is to not consume as much red meat. A useful method for making red meat stretch farther is to eat small amounts of it along with larger quantities of vegetables that can make you feel full. You can use smaller pieces of beef in your dishes as well.
Avoid eating before you go to bed. You should aim for stopping all meals about 3 hours before your regular sleep time. You may find yourself that you’re hungry despite your best efforts. If that happens, eat something healthy like a piece of fruit. There’s plenty of times when you can’t follow this rule, but you should try your best. Whenever your body is resting, any excess calories are stored as fat.
You must forgive yourself for behaviors you’ve taken in the past that led to you being overweight. Only then can you start to move forward and forget about the past. Don’t let your healthy self blame your unhealthy past; just pity the person you used to be and let your past motivate you to stay on track.
Make a complete list of healthy ingredients to buy before heading to the grocery store, and most importantly – stick to it. You might also find it beneficial to limit how much time you spend at the supermarket. When you’re on a time limit, it’ll be easier to avoid the temptation of the processed food section.
If you are on a diet and trying to avoid snacking in the middle of the morning, eat a breakfast earlier which is higher in protein. Protein keeps you feeling full longer, and gives you lasting energy.
